Escalon’s name comes from the Spanish word for “stepping stones,” and this small agricultural community of about 7,450 residents has quietly built one of the strongest homeowner profiles in the Central Valley. The homeownership rate stands at 72.4%, one of the highest in the region. Median home values reach $471,000, topping the smaller Central Valley cities, while the poverty rate sits at just 8.75%, the lowest in the area. Award-winning schools and a tight-knit community keep families here for the long term.
Median household income runs around $81,000, and the financial stability of Escalon’s homeowner base shows in the way properties are maintained. This is a community where reputation travels fast, where neighbors ask neighbors who built their pool, and where quality workmanship generates referrals for years. Adams Pool Solutions has served California pool owners since 1953, and we approach every Escalon project with the care and attention that a small-town reputation demands.
Thirty plus years as a swimming pool remodeling contractor has taught us a few things about pool construction. We’ve gone from simple replasters to complete pool replacement and everything in between.
In addition to our impressive body of remodel work, Adams Pool Solutions has been quietly constructing new pools for very discerning clients who want the customization and special touch to help make their vision of paradise come to life.
Commercial work doesn’t always elicit praise for its eye-popping appeal like a tropical backyard paradise but it is a good indicator of the resources a company can bring to a project.
Preparation of the interior pool surface is critical to the long term adhesion of the new interior surface. Over the years, we have determined that removal of the surface material is the most effective process.
Tony DiTommasoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a pool built about 14 years ago. It was Adams Pools that did the plaster work. Seemed natural to call them for one of our estimates to have our pool re-plastered. After speaking with TJ, who we've worked with in the past, we made the decision to have our work done by Adams. Each person we spoke with, Jason our project manager, Elizabeth in the office, and the team that did the work were outstanding. No complaints at all. While Adams was a tiny bit more expensive then some of the quotes we'd gotten, doing business with them was stress free, and the workmanship seems excellent. TJ gave us some opinions on several other companies to help with the start up (after plastering) and clean up the old tile. The whole project was great, the pool looks new after all this time. There is something to be said for dealing with a large company that's been in the business for decades. Our only hope is we get another 14 years this time around! Susan RussellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Adams Pool Solutions owners and employees are very nice people! Their customer service is exceptional. They will come back and fix anything after the initial service. They even come out just to walk me through the equipment and other things they are not obligated to do. I do not think any of the other pool companies I consulted before I hired Adams would do the same. I hired them based on the job they did for the HOA pool. Their bid was half of the other companies, and they have been in business for 70 years. That alone says it all. I am very happy with my big, beautiful blue pool! I bought a home and the pool was a mess. Adams added the wet deck and turned it into a saltwater pool. I highly recommend them! Anyone who has the patience to deal with me politely is a rock star!! shanda JamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My pool looks brand new!! Trisha BricknerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our swimming pool replastered by Adams pools, we decided to go with the pebble tech, we also added mosaics to our pool and spa. We absolutely love it. Ron was our salesman and he answered every one of our questions and was very helpful all the way through the process. The crew working on our pool were always here and on time and very professional. Elaine also worked with us, we had excellent customer service from her. Everyone working with Adam's pool did an excellent job. We highly recommend Adam's pool. Our pool is absolutely beautiful and we are so happy that we used Adams pools. We would definitely use them again.
Regional water hardness in the Escalon area measures 15 to 20+ grains per gallon, firmly in the “very hard” category. This mineral concentration drives calcium scaling on tile lines, etches plaster surfaces over time, and shortens equipment life compared to softer-water areas. Pool owners in Escalon need surface materials and chemistry management programs that account for these conditions from day one. Adams Pool Solutions recommends pebble and quartz aggregate finishes for Escalon pools because they resist hard water degradation far better than traditional plaster.
Central Valley expansive clay runs through the Escalon area, creating the same soil movement challenges that affect the entire region. These soils shift with seasonal moisture changes, putting stress on pool shells, decking, and underground plumbing. Proper engineering during construction prevents the cracking and heaving that plague pools built without regard for local soil conditions. Adams engineers every Escalon pool for the specific ground conditions on each property.
Escalon faces the same extreme summer heat as its Central Valley neighbors, with daily highs regularly exceeding 95 degrees from June through September. The pool season runs roughly six months, and the intense sun drives rapid evaporation that concentrates minerals in pool water. In a smaller community where every project matters and word of mouth drives business, the quality of the build and the durability of the finish are everything.
From new construction to replastering and equipment upgrades, Adams Pool Solutions brings 70+ years of experience to every Escalon project. Call us at (925) 828-3100 or reach out online.
Adams Pool Solutions serves homeowners throughout Escalon and the surrounding area.
The established residential core of the city, with homes spanning from mid-century builds through the early 2000s. Many pools in central Escalon have reached the 15 to 25 year mark, making them candidates for replastering, tile and coping replacement, and equipment modernization. The tight-knit character of this neighborhood means your pool project will get noticed by the neighbors.
Newer growth areas on the north side of the city, where residential development has expanded over the past decade. Modern floor plans, larger lots, and families moving in from more expensive markets create strong demand for custom pool construction. First-time pool buyers in this area are often looking for a complete backyard package.
Larger lots on the outskirts of Escalon, where agricultural land meets residential use. These properties offer room for bigger pool designs, sport pools, and expansive outdoor living areas. Varied soil profiles on rural parcels make site-specific engineering essential. Adams evaluates each property individually to account for ground conditions.
All inground swimming pools and spas in Escalon require a building permit through San Joaquin County. Unlike neighboring Stanislaus County cities, Escalon falls under San Joaquin County’s jurisdiction, which operates its own online permitting system. Contact the San Joaquin County Community Development Department for application requirements and current timelines.
California law requires a minimum 60-inch pool barrier fence with self-closing, self-latching gates. For pools built or remodeled after January 1, 2018, at least two of seven approved drowning prevention safety features must be installed. SB 552, effective January 2025, further clarifies which safety features can be combined. The same fence and safety requirements apply regardless of county. Adams Pool Solutions handles all permitting paperwork and designs pools that comply with current safety and water conservation requirements.
Regional water hardness in the Escalon area measures 15 to 20+ grains per gallon, classified as very hard. This mineral load accelerates plaster etching and calcium scaling, shortening the life of standard pool finishes. We recommend pebble or quartz aggregate surfaces for Escalon pools because they handle hard water conditions significantly better than traditional plaster.
Yes. All inground pools and spas in Escalon require a building permit through San Joaquin County (not Stanislaus County, which covers nearby Oakdale and Riverbank). California also requires a 60-inch barrier fence and at least two approved drowning prevention features. Adams handles all permitting for our clients.
Escalon sits on expansive clay soils that swell when wet and contract when dry. This seasonal movement puts stress on pool shells and plumbing. We engineer every Escalon pool for these conditions, including deeper excavation for shallow features to get below the active soil zone.
Escalon’s pool season runs roughly six months, from May through October. Summer highs regularly exceed 95 degrees, and the area gets abundant sunshine. With a pool heater, many homeowners extend their season from March through November.
Custom gunite pool construction in the Central Valley typically ranges from $50,000 to $120,000 depending on size, features, and finishes. Larger rural properties with complex site conditions may run higher. We provide detailed estimates after an on-site consultation.
