In 2021, Adams Pool Solutions played a key role in one of Northern California’s largest aquatic facility projects, the Miwok Center at the College of Marin’s Indian Valley Campus in Novato. This state-of-the-art facility was developed as part of a major Design-Build effort to support students’ academic health and wellness, kinesiology, aquatics, and athletics programs.
Project Overview
The Miwok Center is a 21,000-square-foot aquatic and fitness facility designed to serve both the college and the broader community. It includes:
- A 50-meter Olympic-size competition pool
- An adjacent six-lane, 25-yard warm-up pool
- A 10-meter dive tower featuring a cast-in-place concrete core with precast dive platforms
- A fitness center with cardio, weights, and group fitness spaces
- Community areas for classes, team training, swim meets, camps, and recreational use
Adams Pool Solutions’ Role
As the finishing contractor, Adams Pool Solutions was selected to install the plaster finish on all three bodies of water in the new aquatic center. This included the Olympic pool, warm-up pool, and dive tower pool. The scale and technical requirements of the project demanded precision application to meet both performance standards and aesthetic expectations.
Adams’ team drew on decades of expertise in large-scale commercial pool finishing to ensure durable, smooth, and competition-ready surfaces. With three different aquatic environments requiring uniform quality, coordination and scheduling were critical.
Outcome
The project was successfully completed in 2021, delivering one of the premier aquatic facilities in the Bay Area. Today, the Miwok Center stands as a hub for student athletics, community recreation, and competitive aquatics, with Adams Pool Solutions’ craftsmanship playing a vital role in its functionality and long-term performance.
